Hazardous dusts, fumes, vapours and gases can be generated from a number of processes in the workplace. Chemsafety can assist you by quantifying the initial hazard, identifying a suitable management system, and by following through to measure and document the effectiveness of control measures to reassure staff and demonstrate HSE compliance.
The Health & Safety in Employment Act (1992) places a responsibility on employers to ensure that staff are not exposed to hazardous fume in the workplace. Where the degree of staff exposure to fume is uncertain, air monitoring will quantify any issue you may have. In most cases, Chemsafety's assistance provides reassurance to management and staff that exposures are below the guideline levels. However there are instances where air borne contaminants exceed guideline levels, and we will then work with you to find ways of eliminating, isolating or minimising staff expsoure.
Chemsafety has extensive experience in the monitoring and analysis of a wide range of workplace air contaminants. We are able to advise you on the most appropriate monitoring and analysis package for your situation, then provide an independent measurement of fume concentration.
