Lauren started with Chemsafety in 2018 and has a Bachelor of Science with Endorsement in Environmental Science from Canterbury University. She works in all the areas of our business, Hazardous Substances, Occupational Hygiene and in our laboratory as an analyst.
Lauren likes the search aspects of her roles, from trying to find asbestos fibres under the microscope, finding the right controls to workplace hazards and discovering how each clients sites fits into the hazardous substance Regulations. She can also create or amend your material safety data sheets for you.
While undertaking certification work for a farm, it was noted that it depended on the season as to whether they needed the LPG for their processes. The client hadn’t used the LPG in the past year, but needed to have it on hand as a contingency measure. By discussing the thresholds and working quantities with the client, it was determined that the client could reduce the amount of cylinders stored on site in order for them to obtain a 3-year certificate, instead of a yearly certificate, thus reducing their certification costs.
