Dr Michael Gray

Mike founded Chemsafety in August 1992 following eight years working as a scientist within the then Department of Health, DSIR-Chemistry, and ESR.  For the first two decades he was actively involved in providing occupational hygiene and hazardous substance assistance to clients, while growing the company and training a new generation of consultants for the ongoing sustainability of the business.

In 2013 Mike reduced his work hours, and in 2016 handed over the management of the company to Bridgette Jennings. He has continued an active involvement in the stewardship of the business as director and advisor, while enjoying his semi-retirement.

A strong commitment by the business has been the need to be sustainable.  That is, to be there for our clients not just now, but next year and next decade, whenever needed.  Any business needs to be able to provide urgent backup day or night, and to stand by their work.  That means remaining in business and for 30 years, together with customer service, that has been front of mind at Chemsafety. 

You will see our company values on our website, but you will also find them on the walls of our offices within Chemsafety. They were not developed as a glib token to marketing but are rather something we take very seriously. They are our commitment to you, and to ourselves.
