The time has come to establish a hazardous substance location (HSL) for your class 6 (toxic) and class 8 (corrosive) substances. From 1 June 2019 if you exceed the thresholds, you will need to have established an HSL for these substances.
HSL’s must meet certain construction and capacity requirements, and also be separated from protected and public places by specified distances, depending on the class and quantity present.
In addition to establishing an HSL, a location compliance certificate (LCC) will also need to be obtained for the location(s) by 1 December 2019. Chemsafety are able to help you through this process and issue your LCC when you become compliant.
More information regarding these new requirements can be found in the WorkSafe quick guide, or by contacting one of Chemsafety’s consultants or certifiers.
